Welcome New Members: Dime Store Vintage, Bumber Stickers 'N More, Add Vintage and The Vintage Reader

DimeStoreVintage who's motto is "Rescued Vintage to make you smile", has an eclectic mix of playful vintage items that are indeed reminiscent of an old fashioned dime store. Janis and Randy "have been rummaging through garages, back yards and even dumpsters (!) to bring ajunkin' pile of goodness for you to rescue and reuse." They are based out of Minnetonka, Minnesota and also have handmade wood signs and ampersands available.

Bumperstickersnmore Specializes in vintage bumper stickers but also features vintage books, maps and coloring books. As Debbie says in her profile: "Most of the cool old paper ephemera in my shop come from an old stash that I found in the upstairs attic of an old barn/workshop on a property I purchased a couple years ago. Lucky for me everything had been preserved just as it had been left in the eighties." You can take a virtual cross country road trip through her shop and remember vacations long past.

AddVintage is the duo of longtime friends Michele Piccolo and Yvonne Barineau. "We're vintage gals who love vintage stuff. Between the two of us we've been in the antique textile and embellishment business for over 25 years." Based out of Houston, Texas they specialize in vintage buttons but also feature cotton trim and lace, jewelry findings and other hard-to-find items.

To Japan with Love

Elvis and baseball, sushi and karaoke—there are so many cultural passions shared between Japan and the Western world. In the days since the tragic earthquake and its even more devastating aftermath, I’ve thought a lot about what this small but powerful nation has contributed to our own aesthetic sense. For vintage lovers, the words “Made in Japan” summon up innumerable images, from the hilarious to the sublime.

In honor of the Japanese people, here are a few of them. (To see more, follow this link.)

It's The Small Things That Count!

How did the little die get into the Miniature Bottle? You'll have to ask 'Vintage In Bloom'.

Tiny Pixie Shoe from Such And Sort
is a nice fit for your collection of miniatures!
When I was a little girl I was fascinated with the shadow box on my grandma's livingroom wall. It had a delightful assortment of tiny things that I couldn't resist poking at, picking up and playing with. Little ceramic animals, tiny glass bottles, a dusty feather, wee dolls - items that made me ask a hundred questions and made by grandma call me 'nosey'. You can find all sorts of mini's and tiny's from Etsy Vintage Team members. One member, Moxie Thrift, even has the shadow box to put them in!

Vintage Japan Tiny Porcelain Birds from TParty
will bring a song to your shadow box!

Dandelion Girl offers wee sips from this pair of
Vintage Miniature Amber Bottles Wheaton Glass Tonic Bitters.
