Fresh Picks: So Sew!
Around this time every year, Mom began sewing my back-to-school dresses. Beginning in 7th grade, I created my own new fall outfits. Today my sewing machine is hidden in a dark closet corner, but seeing these fabulous vintage patterns and notions…I’m itching to go again. Even if you don’t sew, the addition of vintage buttons or trim gives a ho hum piece fresh vintage style!

A little day suit made of that lovely bark cloth would be oh-so stylish!
And the loopy mod trim is fantastic.
Thanks for the memories and and thanks for including my trim!

Isn't that fabric to die for?! I was thinking a circle skirt :)
Oh I love this--and I don't even like to sew anymore, I just like the "stuff."
Wonderful picks! Many thanks for including my bark cloth.
When I was little, my mom was a seamstress. I have such fond memories of keeping her company while she altered dresses for the many ladies that came by our house. I loved the sound of her sewing machine, the smell of freshly ironed fabric, and all of the buttons, spools of thread and other notions that were so fun to sort through.
Now I have a little sewing corner in my studio and I can sew pretty well. I learned how just by watching my mother work her magic all those years ago.
Thanks for including my pattern. I love that loopy trim. . . . ideas are surfacing! :)
This brings back some great memories of my mother sewing for us! Back in our day, it was polyester double knit...I like these picks much better! Thanks for including my vintage buttons.
I'm not a sewer either but love fabric and notions--and especially patterns for the illustrations!
