Use Your Good Stuff!

I love vintage China!  It took me awhile to get up the nerve to actually use my eclectic set of vintage china on an everyday basis, but I am now hooked!

I love to mix and match my china pieces.  You can have a different place setting everyday, and it's never boring!

Whether you have pieces passed down from your dear Grandmother, or you check out the great vintage china selection on Etsy (use the handy dandy search feature, click vintage, and enter etsyvintageteam), enjoy your china everyday, show it off!

For even more fun, when you're having a dinner party, set the table so all of your guests have their own unique place setting!  This will definitely be a conversation starter!

So use the good stuff!  Get it out of that cabinet and enjoy!

Yay! I love using my "good" dishes as everyday dishes. I recently replaced all of my drab, ordinary dishes with some vintage ones. It even makes me smile when I have to wash them. Do you know the name of the pattern of the bowl in the second picture (blue and green leaves or trees I think) and who is the maker? It looks really sharp!

Hi Sarah,
That's Swiss Chalet (sometimes known as Swiss Alpine) by Stetson/Marcrest. It was hugely popular in the mid-1960s.

I love the mismatched look. We use the family sterling for everyday. My kids will be in for a shock when they go to college. :)

I took a community ed antiques class quite a few years ago, and one of the things I remember above all else is "if you have it, use it!" Fine china wasn't meant to be placed behind glass and admired, it was meant to be used...you should treat yourself everyday by dining on fine china....

I love to use my pretty tea cups and saucers for everyday! I like to invite a neighbor to sit on the porch and sip tea with me mid-morning. The day is still calm and it feels so special to drink from my dragonware or a pretty piece of transferware.
