Small and sweet framed picture of a little boy and girl happily sharing a huge slice of watermelon. They are sitting near a watermelon crop as there are 2 watermelons close by complete with tendrils. Signed by artist Jean Henry who is known for her theorem paintings.
There is a very natural tone to the colors used by the artist – she has captured the feel of a simpler, more innocent time. Colors used are green, blue, red, black with a smudgy brown background. Framed under glass with a wood frame backed with red and white striped paper. A sawtooth hook is attached at the top back. Frame measures about 5.25 inches by 6.25 inches. Opening for picture measures 3.75 inches by 4.75 inches.
Light wear all the way around which only adds to the charm and vintage feel of this adorable folk art piece.
